What is Better: Regular Microwave or Microwave Convection Oven?

One of the most common appliances in the Indian household today is the microwave oven. It does not matter what occupation or age group you belong to; chances are that you use this machine fairly frequently, if not on a daily basis. In this day and age, technology has been advancing at quite an impressive rate and the effects of this can be seen in pretty much every aspect of life. Take, for example, the convection microwave. It is basically a hybrid of your typical microwave oven and a convection oven, both rolled into one.

It is important to understand the difference between the two appliances. The ordinary microwave oven is used for heating up food that has already been cooked. The convection microwave oven, on the other hand, does the actual cooking and baking. Unlike the normal microwave, which only heats the inside of the food, the convection microwave oven in addition to heating the inside also browns and crisps the outside, effectively cooking the food.

The convection microwave oven may be a bit more difficult to operate than the conventional one, but this is simply because of the many more features that are packed into it. With this great appliance at home the ordinary oven, which occupies a reasonably large area of the kitchen, simply becomes an extra bit of storage space as it is never likely to be used again for baking. So whether it is the leftover pizza from last night that needs to be heated, or cookies to be baked, the food will be ready with a minimum of effort on your part. This beast is a replacement not only for the microwave, but also for the oven. Just think about all the space that will be saved.

The most simple and obvious advantage of the convection microwave oven is that instead of two, only one set of appliance is needed. Another major advantage has to do with the working of the machine. The convection microwave oven lets the food retain its moisture on the inside. The excess moisture on the outside is blown away by a constant stream of heated air. Unlike the ordinary microwave, you do not run the risk of dehydrating the foods after keeping them in for longer periods.

By now, you may have come to the conclusion that the convection microwave is the next generation of both microwaves and ovens. However, remember that you might experience a bit of a learning curve when you first start cooking in your new appliance. But the long term benefits are definitely worth the extra money.

What would be better than to have your convection microwave oven from the leading brand of Panasonic? They make the best appliances that are easy to work with and you will simply love them in no time!
