These days, there are numerous types of a hammock stand that are available and it can be difficult to determine which one is right for you. Every hammock chair stand provides a good solid support and the hammock chair couldn’t do without one. But, which one you want to purchase for your house depends on numerous factors. Here are some of the choices.
The type of hammock chair you have may very well be an important factor to determine the type of hammock chair stand you want to buy. It will require a certain shape to be formed and therefore only a hammock chair stand will work. Likewise, the hammock chair stand that you choose should be a minimum of 1′ to 2′ longer than the entire length of the hammock. You may be able to take some of the guesswork out of the equation if by a package deal that provides the hammock chair stand along with the hammock chair.
The choices for hammock chair stand are all of good quality. The materials that are used for the hammock chair stand may be aluminum, stainless steel, steel, or wood. A wooden hammock chair stand looks classy and is very stable and strong. If you decide to go with w wooden hammock chair stand you should select a type of wood that resists moisture. The selections that are the best include cypress, teak, and cedar woods.
But, they still can’t be exposed for long periods to outdoor sun or water because their finish may be damaged. There is another choice which is the aluminum hammock chair stand which is usually used more with the portable type of hammocks. Aluminum hammock chair stands aren’t as strong as many of the other types of hammock chair stands yet since they are of lightweight quality, but it is easy to move this type of hammock chair stand around and can be used indoors easily.
Steel hammock chair stands are much more strong and durable. They are the usual selection a hammock chair stand that is going to be used outdoors where they will be frequently exposed to the sun and rain or near a pool. A steel hammock chair stand will provide good support for your body weight. But, they can also be very expensive particularly if they are made of stainless steel. However, they are very nice to look at.
In this video I show a very simple and cheap way to hang your hammock. This is the same method I have used for years now. This is a very affordable and lightweight solution for those just getting into the hammock camping world. With just a couple of heavy duty nylon webbing straps you can make your own hanging solution that will make your hammock camping setup super easy. The nice thing about this method is that the straps you end up making will most likely fit right in to your hammock bag. The straps can also be used in other ways as well. I have used these straps as improvised waist straps and well as lashing straps to tie additional gear to my pack.
Here are the straps I used in the video.
These straps have a tensile strength of 3,500lbs, so your hammock will break before these do.
