Obviously, cooking with a charcoal grill is not as simple as what you see in the movies – you sure don’t just turn it on! But, people still opt for grilling different food items with a charcoal grill.
People who favor charcoal don’t mind that it’s a little harder to handle and takes longer to cook than other grilling methods. Outdoor enthusiasts continue to think the distinctive smoky aroma and flavor you get with using charcoal makes the added effort worthwhile.
An excellent choice for backpackers would be a very light weight stainless steel charcoal grill. They would appreciate how easy it could be carried and stored. However, since the unit would be smaller, its capacity would be restricted. Cooking for a group of people would require you to make multiple batches of hot dogs and burgers to appease everyone’s appetite.
A grill with a somewhat larger capacity would be better for those who own or often rent recreational vehicles. As they have more spacious means of transportation, they can afford to carry a larger portable stainless charcoal grill. Lighter that the heavy home use grills but lighter that the ultra lightweight models, these stainless steel charcoal grill occupy the perfect middle ground for great portability.
These stainless steel charcoal grills have various features that are specific to certain activities, such as a feature set designed for picnics. In order for it be able to grill larger items of food, a stainless steel charcoal grill intended for picnics should have a deep cover.
Using a cover like this directs the heat back toward the grilled meat and ensures no heat escapes. Therefore, the food you are grilling is has a shorter cooking time and you use less charcoal.
A stainless steel charcoal grill is also practical in the sense that it is not difficult to clean. Stainless steel would have natural anti-stick features which are convenient for maintenance of the grill. Food items left in ordinary grills would lead to corrosion especially when it is always being exposed to extreme weather conditions.
Taking care of a stainless steel charcoal grill would be as simple as removing the remains of the coal and food debris, then giving it a wash with soapy water. To give the grill a clean, fresh scent, you could lay a few lemon slices on the grate.
